Selah

Greetings!

I don’t know what to write. Today has felt strange, yet nothing strange has really happened.

It’s been a beautiful Sabbath. Today is Rosh Hashanah. I do not understand much about the Jewish festivals… but I do know this one means “days of awe” and I do know it has a special emphasis on atonement.

Isn’t it such a lovely gift and amazing news… we now can live by grace. In freedom.

Just let that word resonate for a minute before reading on.

To think this freedom of which I speak… this grace… is rooted in love.

Perfect love.

Sufficiency.

Transparency.

Strength in weakness.

Joy in trials.

Help in suffering.

Peace. Peace that transcends all understanding.

Today is a day we are called to repent. Today is a day we are called to rip off those filthy rags, place them in the fire for purification, refinement, atonement. Today is a day we are called to come naked before the Creator, the One who saw our naked frame in the secret place before what is called “birth”.

.

.

Uncomfortable?

Good.

After that, today is a day He puts on new robes of fresh linens. Today is a day we become new creations as we take off the old self, all our filth, and put on that wonderful name, Christ.

That is what I think about today.

I think love. Love is today. God, He is love.

He is perfect peace.

Beginning, end, everything in between.

The bread of life. The well of living water.

Come to Him all who are weary and thirsty. He will give you rest. His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Come.

As all you are. Past, present and future. Just come. He will accept you, He will give your freedom.

Simply come.
